Blog homepage, categories, tags, archive and search pages are post lists featuring certain posts. Correspondingly, the display of these posts is defined by the post list settings. Our Shopify Blog App enables you to choose between different templates and layouts for post list pages and arrange a certain number of posts there.Â

To configure blog posts lists in Shopify:
1. Navigate to Apps > Magefan Blog > Configuration and find the Post List section.Â
2. Choose the Template for the posts list.Â
3. Define how to Sort Posts By: Position or Publish Date.
4. Specify the number of Posts per Page. If this number is exceeded, pagination will appear.Â
5. Set the Default Short Content Length.Â
Note: regardless of whether you specify the Short Content when creating a blog post or not, short content will be limited by the number of characters you set in this field.Â

Note: each sidebar widget has the Sort Order option. It defines the position of the widget in the sidebar. The lower the number, the higher the widget will be displayed in the sidebar.Â

Shopify Blog Comment Types
Since blog comments are related to a blog post, you can configure them in the Post Page (Post View) section. For that go to Apps > Magefan Blog > Configuration > Post Page > Comments. Here you can disable blog comments or choose which type to use.
Magefan Comments
To configure Magefan comments in Shopify you need to specify the Number of Comments and the Number of Replies you want to allow. If you go with this comment type you will be able to approve and edit Shopify blog comments.Â

Blog URL Structure
To configure the Shopify Blog URL structure:Â
1. Navigate to Apps > Magefan Blog > Configuration and scroll down to the Permalink Settings section and set the Blog Route.
Note: if you want to keep the /a/blog/ path in the blog URLs you can leave Blog Route empty.

How to Manage Blog Authors in Shopify?
Before you move on to creating blog authors in Shopify, you need to make sure they are enabled in configurations. For that go to Apps > Magefan Blog > Configuration and find the Author section.
- Choose whether to Display Author Information.
- Decide if you want to Display Author and Co-author Blocks at the bottom of the post page.Â
- Enable the Display Post List by Author option if you want to show the author's posts on the author page and chose the Post List Template for it.
How to Create Blog Author in Shopify?
When covering a lot of topics in your blog, you need to find a way to group them, so it is easier to find relevant posts. With Shopify Blog App, you can do it either via blog categories or tags.Â
Since we've already covered how to create blog categories in Shopify, today you'll learn how to create and manage blog tags.Â

To create blog tags in Shopify:
1. Go to Apps > Magefan Blog > Tags and press the Add New Tag button.Â
2. Give your tag a Title and add a description in the Content section.Â
3. Set Tag status to enable.Â
4. Specify whether to Exclude a tag page from XML Sitemap.Â
5. Enter a URL Key for the tag page, specify the Metadata and change the Meta Robots if necessary.
6. Save your tag once you finish and assign it to a blog post.
Additionally, you can enable tag cloud in the blog sidebar. So readers can navigate through your blog using tags too.
Shopify blog tags will be displayed under the
Categorizing blog posts helps to make navigation through your blog easier, especially if you cover different topics. Shopify Blog App makes it even more convenient since you can not only create categories but add them to the sidebar category tree for better navigation. Â

To create blog categories in Shopify:Â
1. Go to App > Magefan Blog > Categories and press the Add New Category button.
2. Give your category a Title and write a description in the Content section.Â
3. Change the Category status to enable.Â
4. Specify the Publish Date and End Date. The latter will make a blog category disabled when a certain date comes.Â
5. Specify whether to Include a category in Menu.Â
6. Set the Parent category for your category. If a category you're creating is to be a parent category, just leave this field empty.Â
7. Choose whether to Exclude a category

Step 1: Set a Date and Category
The basic Shopify blog post information includes the Status, Publishing date and Category it belongs to.
Once you start creating the blog post, it's in the Draft status. We recommend keeping it this way till you finish creating

To add a blog to Shopify:
1. Log in to the Shopify App Store and find the Magefan Blog.
2. Click Add app on the Magefan Blog App listing page.
3. Click Install app in your Shopify admin to authorize the use of the app.Â
Once you install the app you'll find it in the Apps and sales channel settings section in your Shopify admin.
Note: if you've chosen a paid plan you'll see charges in the next invoice. Magefan issues charges in a recurring manner. To see your current invoice click on the Blog App on the list of apps.

Login as Customer App is an excellent tool if you want to log in to customer accounts in Shopify without any credentials.
However, if you don't have the Multipass feature in your Shopify Plan or use the pricing plan of the Login as Customer App that doesn't provide compatibility with this feature, you need to ask customers to grant you access to their account first (Allow Assistance).
So, in this guide, you'll learn how to ask customers for allowing assistance and find an example of the message you can share with them.
Ask Customers To Allow Assistance
1. Ask customers to log in to their account and find the Allow Assistance option under the Account Details.
2. To confirm that they allow you to access their accounts, customers have to enter their passwords in the Allow Assistance popup.
Once customers confirm they allow your assistance, you will see a success message and will be able to log in to their accounts with no creds required.Â
Note: this access will be granted for 30 days.
Customer support is extremely important if you want to keep your customer experience levels high. So, if you want to be able to log in to customer accounts outside your Shopify store admin (like your CRM, helpdesk, etc.), you can do this using the Shopify Login as Customer API keys.Â
To get the public and secret keys required for this, you need to:Â
1. Find the Login as Customer app in your store Shopify admin and go to the API Keys at the top right corner of the customers' list.
2. Copy your Public Key.Â
3. Generate new Secret Key if you need.Â
Now that you have your Shopify Login as Customer API keys, you can use them to extend the CRM or helpdesk you want to be able to log in to customer accounts from.

You can log in to customer accounts using API in 2 different ways.Â
Note: the following code is written in PHP, but you can use any other programming language.
Log in As a Customer using the Customer ID

- Change customer password and login
If you ask customers for assistance, they can do it in their accounts.
After the account assistance is granted, you can log in to the customer account once again with no issues.
