Standing out in search takes a lot of effort beyond metadata. You also need to add rich snippets. But not just any snippets. Those that drive the most attention such as product snippet, howto snippet and organization snippet. All of them make you eligible for rich results and make searches more likely to notice you.
Today, we'll talk about the latter — organization snippet and how you can add it in Magento.
What is Organization Schema Markup?
Organization Schema markup is a standardized structured data in HTML format that tells both search engines and humans about your organization or company. While it's not a ranking factor, it helps Google to understand your website better and show it for relevant queries.
Organization schema also makes you eligible for a number of rich results and knowledge panels which allows users to quickly notice and engage with you.
How to Add Organization Markup in Magento?
You can try the coding way. But if you're not a technical person, it's going to take a while to figure out all the specifics of working with structured data. So we offer an easier way — , with 2 different ways of adding the organization schema.
Add General Snippet
In the general configuration, you can add organization snippet for all pages of your store or homepage.
1. Navigate to Stores > Configuration > Magefan Extensions > Rich Snippets > Organization Snippet > Enable.
2. Choose whether to Implement it on the Homepage or All pages.
3. Add a Description, Social Links and a Fax if any.
4. Upload an Image and Save the settings.
Add Organization Widget
If you have several physical stores and want to create separate organization snippets for them, try the widget option.
1. Go to Content > Pages and choose a page you want to configure the organization snippet for.
2. Scroll down to Content, go to Widgets and choose Organization Snippet by Magefan as the Widget Type.
3. Specify the Name and Description of your business.
4. Provide the website URL and Image URL as a logo.
5. Set the Email, Fax and Telephone.
6. Add an Address of your business, providing the Country, Locality, Region, Postal Code and Street Address.
7. Save your content and a page.
Validate Organization Snippet
Regardless of the way you add the organization schema markup, you need to validate it to check if it works properly. Use Shema Validator or Rich Snippet Test for that.
Once the data is validated, be sure that Google will feature your store in one of the rich results. This way you'll be more noticeable and easier to engage with directly in the search results.
However, that's not the only way. You can also enable the search box and add the FAQ snippet along with other important snippets.
