Important: before we start sending pages to Google directly, you need to set up Google Indexing API and connect it with your store.
Once the API connection is established, you can move to the indexing step.
Request Indexing for Individual Pages
The app works with products and collections. So you can send indexing requests directly from the admin pages.
Just navigate to Products and choose a product you want to send for indexing. Then hit a corresponding option in the More actions dropdown.
Request Indexing for Multiple Pages
If you know exactly what products you want to index, you can send multiple URLs for indexing.
Navigate to Apps > Magefan Google Indexer > Request Indexing and choose the Send URLs for index option in Action.
Then paste your URLs in a corresponding field or upload a .txt file and click Send.
You can also delete pages from Google index this way.
Enable Automatic Indexing on Page Save
Finally, if you don't want to worry about sending pages for indexing manually, let the app do it for you.
Navigate to Apps > Magefan Google Indexer > Configuration > Automatic Indexing and enable it. Choose what Page Types to enable the auto-indexing for.
Then select what attribute changes should trigger the indexing request in the Index On Product Attribute Value Change section.
Don't forget to Save the settings.
Monitor All Indexing Requests
Regardless of the method you use to send indexing requests, all of them are stored in the Schedule Log. Here you can view all the created, scheduled and executed requests, check their status and see errors if any.
Note: the success status defines the indexing requests that were successfully sent to Google. It doesn't define if Google has indexed a page. To check if Google indexed a page, navigate to Google Search Console > Pages.
The Indexing API helps you to submit your changes or new pages to Google significantly faster. You don't have to rely on the crawling queue any more.
Send as many requests as you want. Just remember that Google sets a limit of 200 indexing requests per day. If you want to go beyond that number, increase the indexing quota.
