How to Submit Product Feed to Google Merchant Center?

To start selling on Google, you need to set up a Google Merchant Account, create a product feed and submit it to Google. Sounds too simple? Well, that's if we put it shortly. There are a lot of requirements you need to comply with so Google accepts your products.

However today we'll focus on the final step — submitting a product feed to Google Merchant Center. There are two most popular ways to do that, and we'll cover each in more detail.

If you use Magento jump to the bottom of the article to find a ready-made solution for creating and updating a product feed

Submit Product Feed to Google Merchant Center via URL

This method is best if you have hundreds or thousands of products which you update often.

To upload your products to Google Merchant Center this way you should have a URL that contains your product feed. It usually comes from Google Sheets or some third-party tool.

Note: if you're using the Google Sheets link, make sure you change the settings so anyone who has the link can read it.

1. Log in to your Google Merchant Center Account and go to Products > Feeds

2. Then click on the blue + button to add your feed.

Submit Product Feed to Google Merchant Center via a File

For those of you who have very few products and don't update them much, uploading a file to Google will be more convenient.

Note: you'll need to reupload a new file to Google every time you make changes to your products. So this method is more prone to errors.

1. Log in to your Google Merchant Center account. Navigate to Products > Feeds and click on the blue + button to create a feed.
