Why Configure Magento Store Emails?
You might be managing a small Magento 2 store, but as it is growing there appear new departments responsible for different processes in your store. A company that has different kinds of emails is considered credible and serious about providing support to the customers.
If you have only one contact email, it may be hard to sort out support, sales or partnership requests.
That's why it is better if you let your customers contact you via support@mywebsite.com for issues, sales@mywebsite.com for order-related queries and my@website.com for general requests.
Moreover, there are a lot of sales emails that are sent automatically from your Magento store. So you have to set store representatives customers will receive these emails from.
Magento 2 Store Email Addresses Configuration
As it has already been said Magento allows you to configure different kinds of emails. They are:
- General Contact
- Sales Representative
- Customer Support
- 2 Custom Emails
They can stand for e.g. Chief Editorial, Cooperation Executive, Customer Care Manager or any other business representative you want your customers to be able to contact via email.
However, before you configure the email address in Magento 2, you have to contact the email hosting provider or server admin to set up and enable a valid email for your website.
Then, configure store email addresses in Magento 2. For that:
- Go to Stores > Configuration > General > Store Email Addresses.
- Enter the Sender Name that appears as a sender of the email or business representative and the Senter Email that is the actual email address associated with the business representative.
All email addresses and senders are already set by default in Magento as examples.
Once you've configured the store emails addresses for the store representatives, you will see how easier it will be for your team to manage and process different requests.
However, that's not all.
Now, you have to configure sales emails that are sent from the store representative. Besides, to make sure customers can easily find the right email to use, you have to configure the contact page.
