If you ever need to log into customer accounts in Shopify to assist them somehow, Magefan app gives you several different ways to do so. These options generally depend on your customers' account type.
Shopify Login as Customer: Legacy Accounts
If your store has legacy customer accounts, use the following login as customers options to troubleshoot any issues.
Direct login (Shopify Plus plan)
If you are the Shopify Plus store owner, to log in as a customer, follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings > Customer accounts.
2. Enable the Multipass option and copy the Multipass Secret.

3. Then go to Apps > Magefan Login as Customer > Configuration and insert the Multipass Secret you copied.

4. Go to Magefan Login as Customer > Customers.

5. Select the customer you want to log in as, then hit the Sign In button.

You will be automatically redirected to the customer's account to provide assistance.

Password reset (all plans)
For other Shopify plans, there are other login options. One of them is resetting the customer's password.
1. Go to Apps > Magefan Login as Customer > Customers.
2. Choose the Reset Password method for a customer you need to log in as.

3. Confirm the reset.

Now you can log in without a password, but note that the account access lasts until the customer changes their password again.
Assistance request (all plans)
If you don't want to reset the password, another way to log in as a customer in Shopify is by getting their permission to access the account.
1. Ask the customer to log in to their account and go to the Account details.
2. Meanwhile, press the Ask customer to allow assistance option in the pop-up.

3. Ask your customer to press the Allow Assistance button under the Account details.

4. The system will prompt them to enter their password to grant you access to their account.

After confirming the password, you will have access to their account.
This way, your customers stay in full control over their accounts while still allowing you to troubleshoot the issues they have.
Shopify Login as Customer: New Accounts and B2B
For the Shopify new accounts (including B2B), to log in as a customer, you will need a temporary email and a one-time code to access the account.
1. Go to Apps > Magefan Login as Customer > Configuration > New Customer Account.
2. Set how long the temporary email should remain valid (new email lifespan).

3. Open Magefan Login as Customer > Customers and choose the customer you need to log in as.
4. Copy the instructions along with a temporary email you get n the pop-up.

5. Click Sign In to open the login form.
6. Paste the copied email and press the Continue button.

7. Return to the admin panel and copy the 6-digit code you received.

8. Paste the code on the login tab and press the Submit button.

9. You’re now logged in as the customer.

The app temporarily replaces the customer's original login email for the time period specified in the Configuration section. But no worries, it automatically reverts back to normal once that time passes.
